Happy Easter everyone! I hope you woke up to lots of chocolate bunnies and plastic eggs filled with fun!
Just a quick update in case I dissapear for a week or so. My grandfather is not well and so I have not had the time to update or add as many new things to my shop as I intended, but family comes first. This is going to be a rather short post since I'm having lunch with my parents and spending the evening with grandpa. Grandpa's are the best aren't they?
I've found over the last week or so that all the stress has made me feel more creative at least in regards to smaller projects. Does this happen to anyone else? I can pull together designs for several earrings and charm necklaces but cannot seem to focus long enough to make a full necklace. At least it's been a nice distraction from all that is going on.
I've managed to make a few prototypes for things that will eventually be up for sale in the shop. Whenever I try something new I make a prototype and wear it for awhile to make sure the item is sturdy and will last. I'd would not want to sell something and then have it fall apart! These are my first pair of hoops formed completely out of sterling silver wire. They were shaped around a wooden dowel and then hammered for texture. I love kyanite so of course I used some rough kyanite nuggets for this pair. I plan on offering sterling hoops with changeable drops in the next couple of weeks.
Also, I put together this super cute (if I do say so myself, which I do) charm necklace. I used a drilled river rock and some turquoise as the focus. The long sterling drop charm I made out of 16 gauge wire and 28 gauge wire. I also added a wooden bead, a tiny lapis bead and a vintage heart charm. I ordered sterling silver ball chain but I should have read more carefully as it was too tiny. So for now, my prototype is hanging on some silver-tone ball chain.
Everyone go enjoy their Easter and eat lots of chocolate bunnies for me. I cant have too many of them as I need to fit in my wedding dress in July! Enjoy!
