I'm going to have to break this up into 2 posts because I still need to photograph all my beads! So here is Part 1 of Bead Fest...
On Friday, Colin & I took a polymer clay class taught by the very funny Meredith Arnold. As you can see, there wasn't really a serious moment in class, hehe. I will show what we made in class in Part 2.
Friday night I spent with these lovely ladies...
On Saturday I got to shop, shop, shop. My first stop though was to The World's Longest Necklace, run by The Portable Playhouse. This event helps raise money for cancer patients. I added one of my raku beads and donated a bag of beads for their specialized art therapy program.
I didn't take any photos inside the showroom as I was too distracted by the enormous amount of vendors and friends I kept running into (literally...we'd walk right into each other).
Saturday afternoon we had our bead swap meet-up. Not everyone could make it as some of the participants were vendors or teachers. But here's who did make it...
At the meet-up we had: Melinda Orr, Lorelei Hill Eurto, Anne Lichtenstein, Lisa Petrillo, Jenny Davies-Reazor, Kristie Roeder, Andrew Thornton, Elaine Ray, Me (hehe), Marsha Neal, Erin Siegel, Mary and Molly Hubbard and Nancy Schindler.
We had so much fun and lots of gorgeous beads got swapped. I'll show you all those goodies tomorrow!
Then after some more shopping a bunch of us went to dinner at Legal Seafoods (seaweed salad, yum!).
I'm going to add these photos and more to my Suburban Girl facebook page so if you'd like to see them all hop over there later today.
Come back here tomorrow for Part 2 and check out all the class results, swap goodies and my purchases!
