New Bead Design Team-Seeking Members

Good Morning!  

I've decided it's finally time to put together a Suburban Girl Design Team.  I currently have three members and am seeking three more!  Design Team members will participate in 4 challenges (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) throughout the year.  I'll send you beads and you will create a piece of jewelry/accessory incorporting them and beads from your own stash.  All members will reveal their work on their blogs on a set date.  

Here's who is eligible:

• You must have an active blog.
• You must reside in the US or Canada. (Canadian participants please note, your mail can sometimes take 2+ weeks to arrive.  This means you must be prepared to work under tighter time constraints.)
• You should have at least basic jewelry-making skills (crimp and bead wire and/or wire-wrapping).

Our first challenge will be "Bloom and Grow" (thanks Jenny) featuring the orange porcelain flower pendants pictured above.

If you would like a chance to be randomly selected (via the paper-in-hat method) here's what you need to do:

• Leave a comment on this post.  Make it something more witty than "Hey, pick me!"
• Indicate if you live in the US or Canada.
• Make sure your comment links back to your blog or that you leave an email so I have a way to contact you if your name is picked.
• If you'd like a second chance at being picked then post about this on your blog (with a link back to here).  Then come back here and comment again that you blogged about it.

Bead Soup-What I Received!

Feast your eyes upon the bead soup goodness that I got from my swap partner, Cheryl Brown...

She's a ceramic AND lampwork artist and she fired up her torch for these glass babies!  

Check out the awesome focal beads AND that awesome glass toggle clasp!  You drooling yet?

You can look but you can't touch!  Bwhaha!

You might want to wipe that drool off your keyboard...

I asked her to challenge me with color and she sure did!  I'm super excited to work with all these yummy beads and I'm already envisioning earrings, a bracelet and a necklace for the reveal.  Here's to hoping I can get to them all in time!

Bead Soup-What I Sent

My bead soup FINALLY arrived at Cheryl's house yesterday which means I can reveal what I sent.  

So, inside her package of soup-goodness was porcelain pendants, links and beads made by yours truly, coral nuggets, faceted rose quartz, vintage lucite, fairy silk, sari silk, a rhinestone toggle and a Swarovski crystal magnetic clasp.  

I can't wait to see what she makes!  

PS Canada Post, hurry up and get my bead soup here I'm dying to play!
