So much glazing going on this week! I should be able to finish it all up on Monday and then load the kiln and fire it that night.
I recently purchased some Mother of Pearl luster that I want to try out. I will select some of the finished pieces and they will get a coating of MOP and then be fired for a third time. These pieces should end up with an iridescent sheen if things go as planned.
And don't forget to keep checking back, as I'm adding more shows to my "Show Schedule" on the right side of the page. You'll notice I'm now doing a trunk show at the fabulous Ornamentea in North Carolina.
Yes, the blog isn't as active these days. Blame it on a busy schedule and a heavy use of Facebook instead. Since I just finished several hours of sponging porcelain I figured I would show off some photos here. Lots of new designs are in the works for this year...
Hearts! I'm running behind schedule on the Valentine stuff but I plan to test my new mother of pearl luster on these babies. If they work out, I'm sure my slight delay in getting them finished won't bother anyone. Yeah, they'll be super pretty.
Kraken tentacles! Beware the kraken! I've been wanting to push myself lately and make more organic forms. I'm also having a love affair with all things Steampunk...
Beads! Beads! Beads! Got to have lots of beads for bead sets!
I'm also working on finalizing details/dates for two trunk shows this spring. One will be in North Carolina and the other in upstate New York. When everything is ready I'll be sure to announce all the details here!
I'm celebrating with a sale! Enter code NEWYEAR13 at checkout in my Etsy bead shop today and tomorrow and get 20% off your purchase (shipping not included)! This is the final sale until late spring so take advantage while you can!
It's always good to start a new year off with some new beads!
